Parco Archeologico di Turris Libisonis was a Roman colony in the 1st century bc, taking advantage of the fine port still used by ferries and cruise ships in Porto Torres today.
Santa Sabina is a small site in the Nuoro province outside of Macomer, but the 10th century church will charm you, and the nuraghe built between 1600 and 1000 BC has a great interior space and you can climb it to the top.
Bonorva is where you get off the superstrada for the Valley of the Nuraghe, but they’ve just found the ruins of a rather large Roman city just out of town.
